About Us

North Derbyshire GP Provider Company is a federation that has 25 GP Practices within it’s membership, who care for some 230,000 patients.

Our Practices remain as independent units, however our federation allows them to join together and work collaboratively to offer a wider scale of services to their patients.

The federation has a Board of Directors who oversee the governance and development, alongside an Administration Assistant who deals with the day to day running of operations.

Our Objectives

  • To have pride in, and take responsibility for, primary care in North Derbyshire
  • To provide consistent high quality services to patients
  • To support each other in improvement
  • To bring together the capacity to develop new services out of hospital
  • To be an entity that can tender for services offered by Clinical Commissioning Groups

Board of Directors

Dr Simon Theakston

I have been a full time GP partner in Matlock for the last 8 years after a career as an army doctor.  I am married with 2 teenage children, 2 dogs and 3 chickens.  I am interested in forging closer working relationships among practices where mutually beneficial and look forward to the Federation being able to facilitate this.

Graham Chipp

Graham has been the Business Manager at The Stewart Medical Centre in Buxton since September 2015. He previously worked in both administrative positions and as Assistant Manager at the practice over the past 8 years. He has previous working experience in purchasing.
